There are several types of CA proxy servers. Each type of proxy is designed to solve its range of tasks, but they have a lot in common, their capabilities are largely the same.
This is the most pervasive type of proxy server and the general word “proxy” means it. Previously, using this type of proxy, you could only view web pages and pictures or download files. Now new versions of programs can work through the HTTP proxy. Browsers of any version can work with this type of proxy.
These proxy servers can work with almost any type of information on the Internet (TCP / IP protocol), however, to use them, programs must explicitly indicate the ability to work with the socks proxy. To use the socks proxy in the browser, you need additional programs (browsers do not know how to work through the socks proxy themselves). However, any version of many popular programs can work perfectly through the socks proxy. Finally, it is important to note: working with a socks proxy, you need to specify its version by choosing socks 4 or socks 5. This protocol has been changed many times and currently, there are two versions of it in use:
HTTPS proxy is similar to the HTTP proxy, the letter “S” in this case means “secure” with support for a protected SSL connection. These proxies are used when it is required to transfer secret information (for example, usernames/passwords, plastic card numbers).
All of these types are available at Fineproxy.org.
